These calendars represent the best efforts of your peers who agreed to serve on the calendar committee. We have provided a detailed month by month calendar that clearly shows all the testing dates that the State requires and that we must consider. Please look closely at each calendar. Not all of these dates apply to every grade level, but hopefully this will give everyone a better idea of what each grade level is required to test, so you’ll better understand the difficulty in producing a “perfect calendar”.
In addition to the testing dates, the State required that we start school on or after August 6th, and that we include as closely as possible the same number of days in each semester. Because an ending date after June 1st would penalize people who are retiring this year, we worked to end prior to June 1.
