Welding Technology
The Welding Technology program provides career preparation for
students interested in a career in metal work. Students will develop
an understanding of the importance of the welding industry in
today's economy. The program covers all areas of the welding field,
from mild steel to aluminum. The welding industry of today presents
a continually growing and changing series of opportunities for
skilled welders. Courses include:

Introduction to Welding -1 credit course

Intermediate SMAW Fillet Welding and Plasma Cutting -1 credit
course

Gas Metal Arc Welding -1 credit course

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding -1 credit course
Students who complete the necessary requirements may obtain AWS
X-ray Certification.
Students also have an opportunity to participate in written and
skill tests at Wallace State Community College. Depending on the
student's knowledge and skills the student could earn up to 6 hours
of college credit in Welding Technology at Wallace.
