Child Development Center School Counseling Program
Betty Hauk, Counselor
Here at the Child Development Center, we strive to treat each student as a unique individual. The counseling and guidance program is designed to provide emotional and academic support to special needs students.
Every student has a right to experience respect and dignity as a human being and this is accomplished through individual and group counseling activities which emphasize life skills. Personal responsibility and the attainment of maximum potential in career and academic areas are supported by the guidance curriculum.
Even though our students face unique challenges, success is encouraged and expected. A critical component of student success is community support. Special programming utilizing community resources is done several times a year. In addition, coordination of outside field experiences is promoted throughout the school year through field trips with surrounding schools.
The purpose of the guidance program here is to empower all our students to be all they can socially, emotionally and academically through programming, outreach and responsive services.
