Background/Fingerprinting

All employees must successfully pass a background check prior to starting work for Cullman County Schools.  The Alabama State Department of Education requires the background/fingerprinting to be completed via Gemalto Applicant Fingerprinting Online Services.

Applicants MUST register and pay online through Gemalto Cogent Systems prior to arriving at a fingerprint location.  

STEP 1 - REGISTRATION (Alabama applicants MUST register online)

  • Online Registration - https://cogentid.3m.com/al/index_adeNew.htm.  Applicants are responsible for their own registration.  Changes to incorrect registration data MAY be corrected online or by telephone prior to fingerprint submission.
  • Out-of-State Applicants may submit a completed fingerprint card AND a money order or cashiers check made out to Gemalto Cogent.  See Fingerprint Cards - Out of State Only at https://cogentid.3m.com/al/index_adeNew.htm.

STEP 2 - PAYMENT

  • Fingerprint Fee is $46.90.
  • Applicant may pay online during registration using a debit or credit card.
  • Applicants may pay at the fingerprint site with a money order or cashiers check. Payment must be made out to Gemalto Cogent.
  • Cash, credit/debit cards or personal/business checks are NOT accepted at the fingerprint locations.
