New Hire Information

Congratulations!  We are excited that you will be joining Cullman County Schools.  As part of this process, please review the following items which require your attention.  

An online application on the Alabama State Department of Education's Teach in Alabama website must be completed for all positions.

    All new employees must successfully pass a background check.  Directions on how to complete the background check through 3M Cogent Systems can be found under Employee Resources.
    Transportation Personnel must contact a representative from the Transportation Department at 256.734.2933 for new hire requirements.
    All new employees must complete the New Hire Forms.
    Certified Personnel Only:  Send original transcripts to the Department of Human Resources.
    Work Verification(s) must be requested from previous employer(s) and submitted to the Department of Human Resources.  Certified and Classified forms can be obtained under the Employee Resources / New Hire Forms.

    As soon as possible, new employees must schedule an appointment with the Department of Human Resources at 256.734.2933.  New Employees are required to bring/submit the following at the scheduled appointment:
  • Social Security Card (must be original)
  • Driver's License (must be current, valid and unexpired)
  • Proof of background clearance through Cogent Systems
  • I-9 Verification Documents
  • All HR New Hire Forms
    The Human Resources Department will provide eligible employees login information to enroll in PEEHIP after turning in New Hire Forms.

    All employees who earn $75,000 or more annually are required to complete the Statement of Economic Interest Form.  Also, every full-time employee serving as a supervisor must file a Statement of Economic Interest Form.  Employees have 90 days to comply with this subsection.  Training is provided through the ethics website at  Upon completion of watching the 55 minute training video, you must print out the provided Certificate of Completion with your name and agency that is date/time stamped automatically.    You are required to provide a copy of this certificate to the Department of Human Resources to be placed in your file for verification for the Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accounts.  The Ethics Commission will be notified electronically that the training has been completed.
