Text Box: Beliefs of Cold Springs Elementary School 1. Students' learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the school. 2. Students need to apply their learning in meaningful contexts. 3. Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches to support their learning. 4. Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process. 5. Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to accommodate differences in learning styles. 6. Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs. 7. Exceptional students (e.g. Special education, limited English proficiency, talented and gifted, etc.) require special services and resources. 8. A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes students learning. 9. The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our school is going to enable students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners. Text Box: Mission Statement The mission of Cold Springs Elementary School is to prepare responsible and positively motivated students, who will be productive in society and have an ongoing quest for knowledge throughout life. We will accomplish this by providing an appropriate, challenging curriculum in a positive environment, through a dedicated, enthusiastic faculty, staff, and community.
