*The library received a grant from Operation Round-Up to purchase videos to be used by the History department.

* Mrs. Melanie Haynes, a science teacher at Cold Springs High School, has been awarded a grant from Operation Roundup for $450.00 in January 2008 to purchase Discovery dissecting frog kits!  The Discovery Dissect a Frog Kit allows the students hand-on experience without the strong smell of formaldehyde and gloves, but provides plenty of icky fun and lots of learning. The 10 inch authentically decorated frog with "feel like real" removable organs is reusable for each class and each following year. The kit includes a dissecting table with storage drawers, dissecting accessories, X-ray films of skeleton and muscles, and an anatomy guide. The students will be able to discover what's inside a frog with vivid "real" feeling parts. The best part is that each discovery dissect a frog kit is easily storable and reusable year after year.

*    Haley Russell received the Most Outstanding FCCLA member in Cullman County at the Farm City banquet November 15, 2007.  She was presented with a check and a plaque.

* Mrs. Haynes received $875 in October for 8th grade physical science lab supplies for magnetism, flight, sound, waves, light, and color as well as some software for these fields in science.

We then went on to win the state competition and will receive $1000.00 on November 14 at the governor’s convention in Montgomery from Gov. Bob Riley.

* Mrs. Bailey, the librarian at Cold Springs High School, received an Operation Round-Up Grant to purchase new Encyclopedias for the library.
