Mission
  To promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education.  Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through:

  ·  character development
  ·  creative and critical thinking
  ·  interpersonal communication
  ·  practical knowledge, and
  ·  vocational preparation

Purposes
  ·  to provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.
 
·  to strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society.
 
·  to encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.
 
·  to encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation and harmony.
 
·  to promote greater understanding between youth and adults.
 
·  to provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities.

Announcements

 

* If you are interested in being in FCCLA all you need to do is pay $12 fee or $20 for fee and t-shirt.  All money must be paid by Sept. 5th.  You do not have to be in Mrs. Blair's classes to be a member.

* Sept. 3 meeting at 2:30 all members must have paid their fees to come.

* Sept. 4th -10th work on fair exhibit after school

* Sept. 4-10 work on fair exhibit after school

* Sept. 4– FCCLA t-shirt money is due.

* Sept. 10- all Individual fair items should be turned into Mrs. Blair

* Sept. 12- all Individual food items should be turned in that morning.

* Sept. 16- FCCLA/FFA/ 4-H Cattle judging at fair grounds

*  FCCLA is having a poster contest.  The poster should be about "Why Join FCCLA".  The winner will receive a free club shirt.  Posters are due Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2008.

* Oct. 16 – Fccla Beef Cook-off

* Nov. 17- Sweet Potato Cook-off

* Jan. 27 - Pork cook-off

* March 17 - Poultry cook-off

* Cold Springs High School’s Fashion Dynamics class and FCCLA made and donated “Care Bears” to give to the local police officers.  The school officer, Officer Allison, was presented with the bears on April 10, 2008.  It took the students about two weeks to sew the bears.  The bears will be given to children that have been in an accident or is a crime victim.  The students hope that the bears will give the young children something to hold and hug to help ease the pain and fear of a traumatic situation.

Mrs. Blair received the State FCCLA Master Advisor

 

FCCLA  students from Cold Springs take time to help others during this Holiday Season.  The students raised money to adopt a local family for Chirstmas.  On November 24, 2007  Cold Springs FCCLA Students met at a local business and bought clothes and toys for a local family.   The following school day students met after school and wrapped the gifts. The students also raised enough money to feed eight local families.
