My students celebrated Read Across America on March 2, The Cat in
the Hat
50th Birthday.

One hundred forty 7th and 8th grade students read to the elementary grades:
Mrs. Hogland, Mrs. Windsor, Mrs. McReath, Mrs. Welborn, Mrs. Connie
Campbell, Mrs. Anisa Harbison, Mrs. West, Mrs. Peggy Harbison, Mrs.
Julie Mauldin, Mrs. Thomason, and Mrs. Burleson.

They gave them a Dr. Seuss coloring book, a Dr. Seuss pencil, and a book
mark.

Mr. Allen came and read Green Eggs and Ham.

At the end of the day we had a Birthday party celebrating The Cat in the
Hat
. The students also wore their PJ's for the day.
