Our Mission Our goal at West Point High School is to provide a school counseling and guidance program designed to assist all students in attaining their maximum potential in academic, career, and personal/social development. We believe that every child has the right to participate in such a program and to experience the respect and dignity they deserve in the educational setting. Every child has the right to make choices. We seek to provide activities of self-direction and self-development that will promote the acceptance of responsibility and consequences for those choices. |

Taking the ACT The ACT is given several times during the year. You may apply on-line or pick up a packet from your school counselor. Our school code is 010-810. You can sign up to take the test at Wallace State College or Cullman High School. Students are encouraged to take the test prior to their Junior year. It is recommended that you take the ACT 3-4 times depending on your composite score, the college you want to apply to, and financial need. |

Scholarship Information Any senior wishing to apply for a college scholarship should come by the guidance office and speak with Mrs. Pinion or Mrs. Yearwood. Scholarship applications and information are always available outside Mrs. Water's senior English classroom. Summary of Scholarship Deadlines The Summary of Scholarship Deadlines document should be used as a resource to know what to be looking for. We recommend that you seek out other opportunities for your child as well. This list is designed simply to be a springboard for your search. |
