To include at the minimum: 4 English; 4 Social Studies; 4 Math; 4 Science; PE; Health; Fine Arts; and Computer Must pass the Alabama High School Graduation Exam Five differentiated diplomas according to curriculum: Advanced, Standard, Occupational, Career Technical and Advanced Career Technical GRADING SYSTEM: The grading system at Fairview High School is based on a 4.0 grade point scale with A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and F=0 quality points. ACADEMIC PROGRESS: Report cards issued each nine weeks. TESTS ADMINISTERED: Alabama High School Graduation Exam, PSAT/NMSQT (Gr. 10-11), and the ASVAB (Gr. 11).

ACT/SAT/CEEB CODE: 010-800 CURRICULUM: Advanced coursed available in English, Math and Science. In addition to academic courses, there are vocational programs available at the Cullman Area Career Center. Other courses: Fine Arts, Physical Education and Special Education courses. STUDENT LIFE: Many activities are offered for students outside the regular school curriculum. Most students are involved in at least one extra-curricular activity. These programs include marching and/or concert band, male and female athletic programs and a variety of clubs and service organizations aimed at various student interests. OTHER FEATURES: Media Center contains over 5, 000 books in print, and over 500 pieces of audio-visual equipment and catalogued films and recordings. Students have access to 13 computers with 3 more for use with the card catalog. Microcomputers for students use are housed throughout the building, with at least one computer in each classroom. Athletic facilities include a baseball field, practice fields, stadium, two gyms, and a field house with separate facilities for athletics and band. PUBLICATIONS: Fairala Yearbook and Fairviewer Newspaper. |
