Pledge of Allegiance

             Students

Students, you should have your excuses for being absent turned in to Mrs. Smith no later that three days after being absent.

Fair Queen Pageant contestants should be in Mrs. Haynes’ room today during 1st break for a picture to be in the Cullman Times.

Students don't forget to enter the drawing to win the Twilight Read poster or a free T-shirt, plus other secret prizes in celebrating Alabama School Library Week. Check your Gaggle account for details on entering the poetry or digital poster activities to be eligible for the drawings.

Show your Auburn/Alabama pride by purchasing footballs in your 4th period classes.  These will be posted on the bulletin board in front of Mrs. Bailey’s room.  The class who raises the most money will receive a pizza party.

Any student whose parents are members of the PTO will be given a chance to win a slightly used car/ truck in a drawing at the end of the year.  Students who maintain an A/B average will be entered once.  All “A” students are entered twice.  Urge your parents to join so you may be eligible.

Congratulations to the scholars’ bowl team for defeating West Point 190-25.

All High School students, when arriving to school, may go to an individual teacher’s classroom, high school hallways or the snack bar.  NO students will be allowed to hang around outside the buildings in the mornings before school.  .

Remember to come by the office and pick up an enrollment form if you are planning to get your driver’s permit.  You cannot get the permit without a proof of enrollment form.

 

Clubs & Organization

 Fair Queen Pageant is scheduled for December 5th.

The Key Club Induction Ceremony will be Tuesday, November 24 during 4th period.  All Key Club members should dress appropriately.  Any Key Club member who has not signed up to bring something should see Mrs. Cook immediately!

FCCLA members should remember that items for the nursing home shoebox project are due November 30.  Please turn in items to the FACS department as soon as possible.

National Honor Society members:  Please remember to bring your donations for the nursing home and assisted living ASAP to Mrs. Bailey.  Also, please remember to bring your $10 for Christmas Love by Friday, November 20.

Sports 

 

The Track & Field/Cross Country booster club will meet the first Monday of every month at 5:30 pm in the snack bar.

Pep rally this afternoon.

The Aggie Basketball team plays Good Hope today at Good Hope High School. The first game starts at 4:00 pm.  All games will be played in the high school gym.  

The Quarterback Club meeting has been changed to Monday night, Nov. 23rd at 6:30 in the Snack Bar. 

Any student who is interested in keeping stats, filming, or keeping the book for the basketball team should see Coach Knight.  There are incentives.  .

The Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Essay Contest Form may be picked up in the guidance office.  Awards are made on the basis of an essay of no more than 550 words that describes the applicant’s career, vocational, or academic goals.  It is NOT necessary that the applicant be a member of Mensa.  There is NO minimum GPA and/or financial need for this contest.  The application MUST BE POSTMARKED on or before January 15, 2010.

2009.  Remember, a scholarship will be given to a senior in Cullman County from the at-large applicants.  You may pick up an application in the guidance office.

 

Applications for the First in Family Scholarships can be downloaded from www.smithscholarships.com.  DEADLINE:  February 1, 2010.

 

The Linly Heflin Scholarship applications can be downloaded at www.linlyheflin.org or picked up in the guidance office.  This is a $3000 scholarship per year for GIRLS ONLY.  ACT minimum composite score of 23.  DEADLINE:  January 15, 2010.

 The Workers’ compensation Section of the Alabama State Bar is offering a scholarship to students who have had a parent to die or be disabled due to an on-the-job accident.  You can apply online at: www.ALFINC.org  DEADLINE: May 1, 2010.

 

 The KFC Colonel’s Scholars application will be available from December 1, 2009 to February 10, 2010 at www.kfcscholars.org.  To qualify, graduating seniors must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher, plan to enroll in a public college or university within their state of legal residence, plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree, be a U.S. citizen and demonstrate financial need.  DEADLINE:  February 10,
