Prior to becoming Principal at Hanceville Elementary, Mr. Harper grew up in Garden City where he attended school there until the seventh grade.  He graduated from Hanceville High School in 1977.  He taught secondary classes, worked as a library/media specialist and then became Assistant Principal at Hanceville Middle School.  He has three daughters; Morgan, Amanda, and Mallory.  He loves to hunt, fish, fly planes, and all water sports.  He enjoys all outdoor activities and especially loves to watch his children grow and learn.

Leann is our Assistant Principal.  She has taught 5th and 6th grade 1995-1999, was a middle school counselor 2000-2002, and the elementary school counselor 2003-2006 and building supervisor 2006.  She received her B.A. from Athens State University, M.S. from the University of Alabama, Ed.S.  from Univ. of Alabama, and she is currently working on her dissertation for a Ph.D.  She is married to Keith Smith, she has two step-daughters, Kortney and Savannah.  Leann enjoys vacationing, cooking, and furthering her education.
