The Cullman County Commission on Education Science Fair is open to students who attend Cullman County Schools and are chosen by the local schools that are participating. The County Science Fair will be held at Wallace State Coliseum March 14 & 15.
Only committee members and judges will be allowed in the coliseum after 4:15 during judging. Projects not picked up after the Award Ceremony will be discarded.
Every year, the elementary poster theme changes. This year's theme is It's Alive! All information on the poster must be handwritten (no stencils, foam letters, etc). There will be winners from K-3 grades and an overall winner.
The project divisions are Elementary (4-5), Middle (6-8), & High (9-12). The projects will be placed in the following categories: Physical Science, Biological Science, Technology/Math and Earth & Space. Categories may be combined if there are not entries. Winners will be chosen from each category and an overall winner will be chosen from each division.
The Overall High School winner will receive a $500 scholarship to the college of their choice and $100 cash. Also, two scholarships will be available to high school participants from WSCC. A senior participant will be awarded a one-year (non-renewable) scholarship for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 for $1250 each semester. This scholarship cannot be stacked with another WSCC scholarship. Another high school student will be awarded a Future Foundation Scholarship from WSCC for one dual enrollment course in the Fall. These scholarships will be based on scholastic criteria from WSCC.
