Vinemont Elementary became an Alabama Reading Initiative site in 2005. Since that time we have continued to improve reading instruction for all students and have experienced great success.
This year (2008-09) we will be implementing a new reading series, Reading Street, published by ScottForesman. Over 75% of Alabama school systems adopted the series this past spring. This series correlates with the instructional strategies that are promoted by ARI. Teachers received training using the series during the summer and will continue to participate in professional development throughout the year.
