November is here and Thanksgiving is quickly approaching.  We have so much to be thankful for here at Vinemont.

A big thank you to all the parents that attended their Parent/Teacher conferences.  We had 175 parents come to school to discuss their child's progress

Ms. Jones wishes to thank all of our parents and friends that helped with the Book Fair.  Money earned at the Fair goes toward library needs.

Thank you Ms. Sandlin and all her volunteers who helped make farm day a success.

Veteran's Day Program
Veterans and current military personnel are invited to attend our Veteran's Appreciation Day.  The program will begin at 9:00 on November 10th in our gym.

Santa Shop
The PTO will again sponsor a Santa Shop for students.  The shop will open on December 1st.

Yearbooks
Yearbooks are being sold for $35.00 during November.  The last day to order is November 30th.

Eye Screenings
Eye screenings for first and fourth grades will be held on December 2nd.  If you do not want your child's eyes tested please contact the school.

Homework Guidelines
Homework is defined as an assigned activity which is primarily accomplished outside of regular class time.  The purpose of homework is to:
*Extend or make more meaningful concepts introduced at school.
*Engage students in purposeful practice relevant to their learning.
    *Develop effective student habits.
    *Develop independent learning skills.
Parents should encourage students each day to complete their homework.  Set aside a regular time for studying, encourage your student to work independently but offer assistance when asked.
