Cullman County Schools is further investing in career tech. The Cullman County Board of Education recently named Dr. Susan Patrick as the system's Director of Career Technical Education. Adam Edmondson is also the new principal of Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA).
“Cullman County Schools believes in Career Tech and how important it is for our graduates to learn a skill that will help them provide for their families whether they decide to continue their learning in college or not," said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School Superintendent. "I am excited to continue to work with Mr. Edmondson and Dr. Patrick to actively expand the opportunities that we offer our students to help them all to be successful beyond high school.”
Dr. Patrick previously served at principal of CATA. In her new role, she will focus on growing and investing in our career tech programs across the school district.
"I would like to thank the Board and Dr. Barnette for the opportunity to serve as Director of Career Technical Education for Cullman County Schools," said Dr. Patrick. "Their commitment to our students and CTE in general is evident. I plan to work closely with all Cullman County schools and Wallace State Community College to promote and expand career tech opportunities in our district to meet the needs of business and industry in our area."
Adam Edmondson has many years of experience in career tech, and previously served as Cooperative Education Coordinator at CATA.
“I’m incredibly honored to serve as the new principal of Cullman Area Technology Academy. Career and technical education is vital—it gives students real-world skills and strengthens our local workforce," said Edmondson. "I look forward to continuing CATA’s tradition of excellence and working alongside our staff, students, and industry partners to build strong pathways from the classroom to the career.”
These administrative changes become effective July 1, 2025.
