Stacie Olinger

The Cullman County Board of Education on Tuesday approved the hiring of Stacie Olinger to be the new principal of Hanceville Elementary School. Olinger is a 21-year educator and is currently the Assistant Principal at Hanceville Elementary.

Mrs. Olinger is replacing Susan Melton, who is retiring.

“I am so excited to begin my new role as principal of Hanceville Elementary. We have amazing teachers and parents, as well as a supportive community," said Olinger. “Over the past two years as the assistant principal, I was able to be a part of and witness an abundance of love for our students. Hanceville is a special place, and I am grateful to be part of the family!”

During her career, Olinger has worked as an assistant principal, teacher in grades 2, 3, 5, and 6, and served as a K-8 reading coach and 6-12 instructional coach.

“Over the past two years, Mrs. Olinger has done a wonderful job building relationships with the students, faculty, staff, and community at Hanceville,” said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School Superintendent. “I anticipate her continuing to do great things for years to come.”

Mrs. Olinger’s first day as Hanceville Elementary School principal will be July 1.
