Mercedes Engine Donation

Mercedes - Benz on Thursday donated four new engines to the Auto Service Technology program at Cullman Area Technology Academy. The engines were delivered to Cullman from the Mercedes Plant in Vance. Students will use these engines for hands-on training as part of the auto service tech program. Cullman County Schools thanks Mercedes for this generous donation, and for investing in our students.

Billy Troutman, CATA Principal: We are extremely grateful to Mercedes for their support of CTE and the investment in our students and community. Alabama is fortunate to have business and industry partners that believe in education and building a strong workforce from the ground up.

Steve Colburn, Mercedes-Benz: “Donating these Mercedes-Benz engines to the Cullman Area Technology Academy is all about our continued support for career technical education. I love to see students engaged and excited about learning, especially automotive technology. Not only does this type of donation create excitement for the current students, but will also encourage more students to be a part of the program in the future. We need top skills at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., and these students could potentially be future all-stars if they decide to continue their learning by joining our Mercedes TECH Advanced Automotive Technician program through our partnership with Wallace State Community College.”
