The Cullman County Commission on Education at a Special-Called Board Meeting on Wednesday approved a request to hire Suzy Berryman as Chief School Financial Officer (CSFO) effective March 1, 2023. Berryman is the current CSFO in the Lawrence County School District, where she has worked since 2014.
In addition to serving as CSFO for nine years, Berryman has also worked as both an account
examiner and audit manager for the State of Alabama Examiner of Public Accounts. She
replaces current CSFO Ed Roberson, who will continue to work with Mrs. Berryman during a 30- day transition period.
"Suzy Berryman has extensive experience in school finance, both in a school system and at the
state level,” said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School Superintendent. “As Chief School
Financial Officer of Cullman County Schools, she will be managing the finances of one of the
largest school systems in the state. Our system is fiscally strong, and I am excited that Mrs.
Berryman is joining our team. I am confident she will be able to build on our foundation of
success and help us continue to provide the best educational experience possible."
