Justin Aby, it’s safe to say that just about everyone in Cullman County, maybe even most of North Alabama, knows who he is. Why, you might ask? Well, if you were to ask students and staff at Good Hope Middle School, they would probably say it’s because he helped get them out of school early! What a thrilling game it was, too. Congratulations to our Lady Raiders for making it to the state championship three times and winning two of them in 2024 and 2026. We would also like to give a special thanks to Justin Aby for the excitement and for showing once again that Good Hope is one of the best around. GO RAIDERS!

We often talk about how some of our high school athletes are absolute legends, but let’s also recognize some of the incredible staff members at Good Hope Middle School. As many people know, the walk from the middle school to the high school can be pretty long. Because of this, students were sometimes late getting to class after breakfast. Thanks to the amazing staff in the Good Hope lunchroom, along with several middle school staff members, breakfast is now being delivered to the middle school so students can eat in the gym. This small change has made a big difference for many students. If you happen to see any of these wonderful staff members, be sure to give them a special thank you for helping make this possible.

Meanwhile, our 7th-grade Civics students are hard at work on their Liberty Learning Service Projects. These projects focus on identifying problems within our community and finding ways to make a difference. Some of the projects include collecting soda tabs for cancer research, picking up trash around the school campus, helping at the elementary school, and many more. Students will showcase their work through poster boards at the Liberty Learning Expo in May, where they will have the opportunity to share their ideas and efforts with others.

Finally, tryouts at Good Hope Middle School are coming up soon! Rising 7th and 8th graders will have the opportunity to try out for Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, and Volleyball.  Congratulations to the ones who made the cheer squad. Many students have already expressed excitement about the chance to compete and represent the Raiders. We look forward to seeing the dedication, effort, and Raider pride from everyone who participates.
