This week has been "Healthy Habits" Week here at Vinemont Elementary. Since the Peer Helper program is new to VME, we asked Mrs. Alicia Tatum, who is not only the Peer Helper sponsor, but also the 2025-2026 Vinemont Elementary Teacher of the Year, to explain a little more about the program and what it has to offer!

Peer Helpers is a comprehensive, prevention and support program. Peer Helpers is a peer-to-peer program that allows for students to encourage positivity, understanding, and kindness. Students are selected by teachers to serve as Peer Helpers.
This week Peer Helpers led their Healthy Habits Week campaign. This allowed for the Peer Helpers to greet students and encourage positivity, growth mindset, and kindness. Each day, students had a fun dress up theme. The Peer Helpers hid positive affirmation ducks all around the campus at VME hoping to brighten up other students' day. Each morning the Peer Helpers greeted students when they arrived at VME. Students were greeted with positive posters, stickers, pencils, affirmations....and most importantly smiles! The Peer Helpers look forward to many more fun activities in the future!
