Parents, we will begin ACAP testing tomorrow morning for the majority of our 6th-8th grade students. We appreciate you ensuring they are in attendance this week, get plenty of sleep, and eat breakfast each morning. Although our school is not defined by one score, the students and teachers have been working extremely hard and we appreciate you encouraging the students to give their best this week. Good afternoon...A few announcements pertaining to tryouts. 1) For any current 6th or 7th grader interested in playing MS football next year, there will be a mandatory parent meeting this Sunday at 1:30pm in the MS gym. 2) For any 6th-8th grader interested in being a part of MS Auxiliary next year, there will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, April 8th @ 3:30pm in the HS Bandroom. 3) Bowling tryouts will continue next Tuesday and Thursday at 4pm at the Cullman Bowling Center for any 6th-8th grader. Good afternoon 7th grade parents: We just wanted to let you know that Coach Quattlebaum has resigned from his teaching/coaching positions at WPM. We are thankful for his time and effort, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors....For the rest of the school year, Mr. Franchot South will be teaching the 7th grade History classes. Mr. South is certified to teach Secondary History and has over 40 years of teaching experience in education, so we are fully confident in his ability to lead the History classes. Thank you!
Good afternoon! 1) Afterschool tutoring is back on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning tomorrow right afterschool in the library until 4:45pm. Some of our students received permission forms this week. The number of slots available are limited. You can email bthompson@ccboe.org or call the school for more information if you are interested. 2) MS Cheer Tryouts will start on Tuesday of next week and last until Friday from 3-5pm daily. All participants must have an up-to-date physical and there is a $25 tryout fee. 3) We will be giving the PRACTICE ACAP Tests next week during the first few hours of the school day beginning on Monday and should finish up on Wednesday....Thank you and stay warm!

Good afternoon! The WP Varsity Girls Basketball team is playing in the Regional Tournament tomorrow morning at 9am at Wallace State. If a student attends the game, they will need to sign-in with Mr. Thompson or another WPM staff member as they enter the coliseum in order to be excused from school. Students are expected to be back to school by 12pm in order for the morning absence to be a school-activity excuse. Thank you!

Good afternoon! 1) There will be a Raptor (bird) Show tomorrow in the gym for MS students at 10am, cost is $2.....2)We want to remind parents that students may have up to 3 parent notes per semester to have absences excused. Otherwise, doctor notes will need to be turned in for absences to be excused. We appreciate parents getting notes sent in for students when that are absent!

Good afternoon...1) The 8th graders will be going to tour Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA) on Thursday via bus to learn about the various opportunities offered for them next year. The bus will be leaving around 8:15a.m. and should be back on campus around 11:30a.m. Permission forms were sent with students last week and must be turned in by tomorrow...2)The 7th grade Career Caravan will be tomorrow at WPM around 12:30pm for 7th graders to learn about programs offered at CATA... 3) We will have a $1 Hat Day this Friday. Good afternoon! A few reminders as we get closer to Open House and the beginning of the school year... 1) Powerschool Registration must be completed for every student. An email was sent from "Powerschool Enrollment" several weeks ago. Check your spam if you cannot locate the email. As of now, about 80% of students have been registered. Thank you for taking care of this! 2)Every incoming 6th grade student that has already turned 11 years old must have an up-to-date Tdap immunization form on file before receiving a schedule. These can be received at the family doctor, most pharmacies, or an urgent care. 3) 6th grade Open House will be Sunday, August 4th from 3-5pm and 7th/8th grade Open House will be Tuesday, August 6th from 3-6pm. Lockers may be purchased at Open House for $10. 4) First day of school will be Thursday, August 8th for A-K students and on Friday, August 9th for L-Z students. We look forward to seeing our students soon and having a great school year!
