The Vinemont Eagles have made history. They defeated Phil Campbell this evening, which makes them the first Vinemont baseball team to reach the third round of the AHSAA playoffs. Congratulations... and good luck guys!
Congratulations to Parkside 3rd Grader Paxton Plourd! He won the ELKS Hoop Shoot National Competition in Chicago on Saturday (8-9 year old boys division). He had a perfect 25/25 score! What an accomplishment!

Congratulations Vinemont High School for being selected to receive the Alabama Green Ribbon School designation. This is an award from the Alabama State Department of Education. This program recognizes schools with gains in sustainability and environmental education and practices.

Cullman County Schools is saddened to learn of the passing of Felton Easterwood. Mr. Easterwood served as Cullman County Superintendent from 1991-1995. He was also a long-time principal at Holly Pond High School, as well as a teacher, coach, and mentor. Thank you, Mr. Easterwood, for your years of dedication to Cullman County students and families.
The Cullman County Board of Education, at its meeting Thursday, approved a much-needed $2.4 million addition to the Child Development Center. Eight classrooms will be built, with each classroom having a bathroom. The facility will also serve as a storm shelter for the campus. These changes will also allow for the car rider line to move to the back of the campus. More parking spaces will be added, too. We are excited for our CDC family!
The CCBOE today recognized Natalie Herron from Good Hope and Faith Freeman from Fairview. Both of these ladies are students in the CATA Educators in Training program. They recently esrned 1st Place in the Notebook and Display competition at the Future Teachers of Alabama State Conference on the Auburn University campus. They will also be recognized at the state board of education meeting in May. Congratulations!
The Hanceville High Robotics Team was recognized at today's board meeting for their recent county competition win. Congratulations!
Congratulations to these students who have completed the requirements to receive the Alabama Seal of Biliteracy on their diploma! The Seal of Biliteracy recognizes that a student has attained a level of proficiency in two or more languages.
