🇺🇸 9/11 Honor Walk | We Will Never Forget 🇺🇸

This morning, Fairview High School held a special memorial ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. In a powerful tribute, members of the Fairview High School football team carried a 90-foot American flag from Randall Shedd Park, escorted by Fairview Fire, and continued the Honor Walk throughout the school campus.

We are incredibly proud of the students across the Fairview campus for the respect and reverence they demonstrated throughout today’s ceremony. May we always remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the unity our nation showed in the face of tragedy.

🇺🇸 2,977 lives lost.
🚒 343 firefighters.
❤️ We will never forget.

A blue and white graphic displays "Friday Night Lights" with two logos. It reads "Game of the Week: Holly Pond vs. Hanceville".
“Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, but the impact of that day remains deeply woven into the story of our nation. We remember the lives lost, the bravery of our first responders, and the incredible spirit of unity that followed. For our students, 9/11 is history rather than a personal memory, making it even more important that we teach them why we must never forget.

Across Cullman County Schools, we are marking this anniversary with remembrance ceremonies, patriotic programs and other activities honoring those who lost their lives and those who answered the call to serve. Twenty-five years later, we remember their courage and sacrifice, and we remain committed to passing those lessons on to the next generation.”

“Cullman County has lost a true giant with the passing of Mr. Roy Drinkard. His remarkable life was defined by service—to his country, to his community and especially to future generations. Mr. Drinkard understood that one of the greatest investments we can make is in the education of our children, and his immense support of education in Cullman County has made a lasting impact on countless students and families. His generosity, leadership and commitment helped create opportunities that will continue long after his passing. We are incredibly grateful for all he did for Cullman County Schools and for our entire community. On behalf of our students, faculty, staff and Board of Education, we extend our deepest condolences to the Drinkard family. Mr. Drinkard leaves behind an extraordinary legacy, and Cullman County is a better place because he called it home.” — Dr. Shane Barnette Superintendent, Cullman County Schools
